Deposits & cancellations.
In plain English, before you ever request a quote. Your signed booking agreement and quote are the full terms; this is the short, honest version.
The short version: we send one clear, itemised quote. A 50% deposit secures your date; the balance is due before your celebration. You pay venues and major suppliers directly, at their real price, so there’s no markup hidden in between. Specific cancellation terms depend on the suppliers booked and are set out in your booking agreement.
Your quote
Before anything is booked, we design a costed plan and send you one itemised quote covering the Cape Town Bach planning & styling fee and an estimate of your celebration spend. Nothing is confirmed until you approve it.
Deposit & payment
- A 50% deposit secures your date and our place in your calendar.
- The balance is due before the celebration, on the dates shown in your quote.
- We’ll always lay out exactly what is due and when, in writing, before you confirm.
You pay suppliers directly
Cape Town Bach charges a planning & styling fee for designing and running your celebration. Accommodation, venues and major suppliers are paid by you, directly, at their real price. Your booking sits with each supplier, there’s no quiet markup from us, and you always see where your money goes.
Changes & cancellations
Because most of your celebration is booked with third-party suppliers, cancellation and refund terms depend on which services have been booked and on each supplier’s own policy. Once a supplier is secured, their deposit may be non-refundable, even if your plans change.
The specific terms for your celebration — including how the planning fee and any supplier deposits are treated if you cancel or postpone — are set out in your booking agreement and quote before you confirm. If anything changes, tell us as early as you can: the earlier we know, the more we can usually move, rebook or rework.
Changes to group size or dates
Minor changes to guest numbers can often be accommodated, but some suppliers need final numbers by a set date, and a few costs are fixed once booked. We’ll flag any deadlines that apply to your booking. Date changes are handled case by case and depend on supplier availability.
Things outside our control
Occasionally weather, supplier issues or other events outside anyone’s control affect a plan. When that happens we do everything we can to adapt, rearrange or find an alternative so the celebration still lands.
The agreement comes first
This page is a plain-English summary to help you plan with confidence. Your signed booking agreement and approved quote are the binding terms, and they prevail wherever there’s any difference. Questions? Email events@capetownbach.co.za or message us on WhatsApp — we’re happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.
